According to a communiqué signed by the Secretary General of the party, Senator Jean Tsomelou, the meeting will be chaired by the national chairman of the party, Ni John Fru Ndi.
Although it isn't stated on the communiqué what mayors, parliamentarians and Senators ( who partly make up the National Executive Committee) will be discussing during the meeting on Saturday, pundits believe the party's participation in next elections will be handled.
The party had earlier declared it wouldn't take part in previous elections due to the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West regions, blaming government for failing to bring order in the country.
Saturday's meeting is the first after the national chairman, John Fru Ndi was kidnapped for the second time in Bamenda. Chairman Fru Ndi was kidnapped by armed separatists to force him and his party representatives to resign from parliament. Fru Ndi has told the media on several occasions that the SDF was targeted and he didn’t understand why armed separatists focused only on his party.
