Inhabitants had taken over social media networks complaining about spending hours in traffic around Yassa and Village, due to traffic, caused by ongoing works and current bad roads. Users have been tweeting that it took them almost 8 hours from Douala to Yaoundé.
The SDO's decision that runs from the 5th to 31st of August 2019, says these vehicles wouldn’t be allowed to move between 5am and 9pm.
With construction works going on, the decision gives priority to ambulances, forces of law and order and official convoys.
Defaulters have been warned not to violate the order or the face the raft of the law, which will be implemented by the City council, Divisional officers of Douala 2 and 3, gendarmerie and police officers.
